Phew… the wait is finally over and Nokia’s first ever tablet is out. From what we saw in Abu Dhabi, the Nokia Lumia 2520 looks set to take the world by storm. Unsurprisingly, it gets the big thumbs up from us, here at Nokia Conversations, but what about tech’s movers and shakers on the interwebs?

Did the Nokia Lumia 2520 fulfil their expectations? To read for yourself, check out these first impressions below.

“The 1920 x 1080 display is perhaps one of the best I’ve seen on a tablet. Viewing angles are great and the brightness is equally impressive. Color reproduction is incredibly accurate, and it’s clear Nokia has really aimed high with the display on its first tablet.”

The Verge

“We put this to test alongside an iPad, and the images taken on the Lumia tablet were much more vibrant and offered more detail.”

V3

“As soon as you pick up the 2520 you’re struck by how premium it feels.”

Techradar

“The Lumia 2520 stands out on both price and performance. […] It’s one to take seriously.”

The Register

“The Qualcomm 8974 chipset running at 2.3GHz means responsive use and 4G LTE connectivity. From our time with it everything was seamless, flitting in and out of big apps like Outlook didn’t even cause a glitch.”

Pocket-lint

“If you’ve played around with Lumia phones in the past, the 2520 will be immediately familiar to you. It’s much thinner and sleeker than we originally expected, and it’s very comfortable to hold.”

Engadget

“Like the Lumia smartphones, the 2520 uses Nokia’s ClearBlack Display filter, which promises to cut down on glare when you’re outside. That’s important, because unlike a smartphone, on which you might just be quickly checking your e-mail or taking a photo, you’re more likely to spend more time on your tablet outside, reading or watching a video. If the screen’s performance outdoors is as good as Nokia says it is, it will make it much easier to use your tablet in sunlight.”

CNET

“I really, really liked the Lumia 2520. As someone whose work is purely in the browser, and as someone that really wants battery life on a tablet above anything else, the Lumia 2520 seems pretty impressive. Especially when you see the onboard apps…”

UnleashThePhones.com

“The Lumia 2520 is running on the latest Windows RT 8.1, and comes with Microsoft Office and free offline navigation thanks to HERE maps and services pre-installed. Those are two very helpful services and are bound to give it an edge over many of its rivals out there.”

GSMArena.com

“Nokia has outdone rival manufacturers by stuffing the tablet full of its own features, be they its camera tools, quirky design or custom application lineup, including the firm’s Here mapping service.”

The Inquirer

It seems like we should all join the preorder queue before it goes around the planet, don’t you think? My Nokia Lumia 2520’s going to be bright red to light up Finland’s dark winter days. What about yours?
